It was a brilliant afternoon at Keeneland Race Course as Queen Azteca delivered a sharp, professional performance to take an allowance contest going 1 1/16 miles on the dirt.

Breaking alertly, the 4-year-old mare wasted no time asserting herself, going straight to the front and dictating terms from the outset. Comfortable on the lead, she settled into a strong rhythm down the backstretch before continuing to show the way around the far turn. When challenged in the lane, Queen Azteca dug in and held firm, turning back her rivals to secure a one-length victory.

A daughter of Sharp Azteca, Queen Azteca came into the race off a solid runner-up finish in the Sandy Bottom Stakes at Colonial Downs, and she took a clear step forward with this effort.

Owned by Team Valor International and piloted by Irad Ortiz Jr., who notched his third win on the card, the performance highlighted both her natural speed and determination.

The victory is a testament to the consistent work behind the scenes, as the mare continues to develop into a reliable and competitive presence in the barn.
