Peignoir delivered a big performance to take the $135,000 Lapatourel Overnight Stakes at Oaklawn Park on March 21, going 1 1/16 miles on the dirt.
Expertly ridden by Cristian A. Torres, she broke alertly and settled into a pressing position down the backstretch before taking command at the 3/8 pole. From there, she never looked back, drawing off to win by 4 lengths in a final time of 1:44.22.
She’s been ultra consistent throughout her career, finishing in the top three in 13 of 18 starts with five wins. She ran second in the Trivista Overnight Stakes at Oaklawn in February and came into this race poised for a performance like this.
Bred and raced by Carolyn and Gray Fletcher alongside Doug Hesterly, Peignoir now boosts her career earnings to $535,330.
Congratulations to all connections and thank you to the entire team for their continued hard work behind the scenes.
