Rodolphe's Racing Story

Discover the remarkable journey of Rodolphe Brisset, a seasoned horse trainer with a wealth of experience. From his beginnings in Tours, France, to his prestigious tenure with Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott in Kentucky, Rodolphe's dedication to the world of horse racing is unparalleled.

Rodolphe Brisset – Owner, Trainer, & Bloodstock Agent

Rodolphe Brisset brings a lifetime of experience in the Thoroughbred industry, blending international expertise with hands-on horsemanship. His journey in racing began at the young age of 12 in 1995, exercising Thoroughbreds in his native France. By 1997, he was enrolled in the prestigious jockey school, graduating in 1999. That same year, he rode in his first race—and impressively won it.

In 2001, Rodolphe’s talent earned him a position as second jockey for His Highness Aga Khan, riding under the esteemed training of Alain de Royer-Dupré. However, weight challenges led him to retire as a jockey in 2002. Transitioning seamlessly, he became a jockey agent for Christophe Soumillon while continuing as an exercise rider for the Aga Khan operation. That winter, he expanded his international experience by spending the season in Hong Kong.

By 2004, Rodolphe had shifted his focus entirely to training, playing a pivotal role in the career of Dalakhani, who went on to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The following year, he was offered an opportunity in the United States by Patrick Biancone. Arriving in Kentucky in early 2005, he quickly transitioned into an assistant trainer role, working closely with Julien Leparoux. In 2007, he joined Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, where he spent a decade at the highest level of racing.

With years of elite experience under his belt, Rodolphe took the leap in April 2017, establishing his own training operation, R. Brisset Thoroughbred Racing Stables, LLC. Recognizing the importance of strategic bloodstock acquisition, he concurrently founded RB Bloodstock LLC, leveraging his extensive knowledge of breeding and bloodlines to assist clients in buying, selling, and training their horses. RB Bloodstock provides expert guidance and personalized services, assisting clients through each step of the process, from identifying suitable prospects to maximizing their potential on the track.

The Brisset Racing & September Farm Legacy

In 2015, Rodolphe met Brooke at Payson Park, their winter training base. The couple got engaged in November 2016 and married in January 2017. Brooke has played a vital role in the success of their business while balancing family life as a "super mom."

In July 2020, they purchased September Farm in Versailles, Kentucky. The farm serves as a private breeding operation for their own mares while also providing services to clients supporting Brisset Racing. Their approach is built on quality over quantity, maintaining around 60 horses to ensure individualized attention, training, and care. Drawing from Rodolphe’s vast international experience, the program emphasizes adaptability, reading each horse’s needs to maximize its potential.

Beyond racing, Brooke and September Farm are deeply committed to Thoroughbred retirement and giving back to the Versailles, KY community. When he’s not at the barn, Rodolphe enjoys golf—both playing and watching.

His philosophy in life and racing is simple yet powerful:

“You can talk all you want, but you can’t change the past—only your future.”

With a lifetime in the industry and a relentless drive for excellence, Rodolphe Brisset continues to build a legacy, one horse at a time.
