Emerald Spun delivered a well-earned breakthrough performance on July 2, capturing Race 3 at Colonial Downs with an impressive maiden victory over one mile on the turf.

The 3-year-old daughter of Hard Spun settled comfortably just off the pace before being guided wide entering the stretch. Once asked for her run, Emerald Spun responded with a powerful late kick, drawing away to score by 1 3/4 lengths in the $87,500 maiden special weight.

Owned by Hidden Valley Racing (Steve Evans), Murray West, Willie Koester, and Bobby Shiflet, Emerald Spun was purchased by Steve Evans for $50,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. With her first career victory, she has now earned $85,339.

Congratulations to her ownership group and to everyone on the Brisset Racing team whose hard work helped make this possible.
