Bodacious Bay Breaks Maiden in Dominant Fashion at Churchill Downs

Bodacious Bay put it all together in impressive fashion on June 26, capturing Race 8 at Churchill Downs with a decisive four-length maiden victory.
The 3-year-old daughter of Not This Time broke alertly from the gate before settling just off the early pace. Traveling comfortably throughout, she moved to the lead around the far turn and quickly separated herself from the field, drawing off to a convincing victory.
The effort earned an 84 Beyer Speed Figure, making Bodacious Bay one of the five fastest maiden winners in North America that week.
Purchased for $350,000 by RB Bloodstock on behalf of Storyteller Racing, Bodacious Bay races alongside her breeder, Breffni Farm. She is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and millionaire Royal Spa, who was also trained by Brisset Racing for Breffni Farm.
Bodacious Bay made her career debut with a runner-up finish at Oaklawn Park in April before returning to Churchill Downs to finish second in May. With this win, Bodacious Bay increased her career earnings to $114,496.
