As the fall meets at Keeneland and Churchill Downs come to a close, our team transitions into winter mode with a clear plan for the months ahead. Winter is an important time for our stable. It is when young horses develop, seasoned horses regroup, and the foundation for the spring season is set. For us, that work happens in two places we know well: Turfway Park in Kentucky and Oaklawn Park in Arkansas.
Why We Stay Rooted in Kentucky
Our operation remains focused on the Kentucky racing circuit year-round. We keep two barns active in Kentucky with our main base at Keeneland, as the state provides consistent opportunities and the flexibility to train and race the way our program is designed.
Turfway Park is a major part of that strategy. Turfway offers reliable winter racing and a safe, consistent surface that allows horses to stay in a steady routine through the colder months. It keeps our team exactly where we want to be, surrounded by the resources, racing offices, and transportation access that make Kentucky one of the most horsemen-friendly regions in the country. From here, we can ship to almost any racetrack when it makes sense for a particular horse.
Oaklawn Remains a Key Part of Our Program
While Kentucky is our home base, Oaklawn Park plays a major role in our winter racing plan. Oaklawn is competitive, horsemen-focused, and known for strong purses throughout the meet. The atmosphere is excellent, the fans are passionate, and the racing is built to attract quality horses.
Setting Up for 2026
Our focus remains simple: put our horses in the spots where they can succeed.
We are looking forward to the months ahead and to the new season that begins with this shift in our program.
