RB Bloodstock Purchases Three 2-Year-Olds on OBS March Day 1

The OBS March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training got underway Tuesday in Ocala, Florida, with RB Bloodstock securing three promising young horses on behalf of Storyteller Racing.
The trio of purchases includes prospects by Mandaloun, Yaupon, and Greatest Honour, each selected with an eye toward developing into quality dirt runners.
The headline purchase of the day came when RB Bloodstock secured Hip 123, a colt from the first crop of Mandaloun, for $350,000 from the consignment of Tom McCrocklin. The colt breezed a quarter mile in :21.0 during the under tack show and was one of the top prospects on the team’s list as a potential two-turn dirt horse.
Later in the session, RB Bloodstock added Hip 191, a filly from the first crop of Greatest Honour, for $135,000 from the consignment of Maldonado Thoroughbreds. The filly breezed :10.1 for an eighth of a mile and impressed with the way she sustained her run through the wire.
The third purchase came with Hip 231, a New York-bred colt by Yaupon, purchased for $250,000 from the consignment of Sequel Bloodstock. The colt breezed an impressive :10.0 and represents the first crop of the Grade 1-winning son of Uncle Mo. The New York-bred program continues to be a focus for the team, with the colt fitting the profile of a Saratoga-type runner.
